Diriba Eticha (PhD),
Professor at ASTU

Diriba Eticha (PhD) is graduated from Hawassa University in Foreign Language and Literature in 2005. He did his MA in English in 2012 from the then Adama University now ASTU and obtained his PhD in Applied Linguistics majoring in Leadership Communication from Andhra University in India in 2019 where at the same time he did MA in Public Administration.

Diriba published several articles on reputable journals and presented many scientific papers on both national and international research conferences.  He gave leadership skills trainings for a number of leaders at various levels.

As an Assistant Professor of Applied Linguistics, Diriba has been teaching and advising students and also serving as an external examiner for postgraduate students in his area of specialization.

He was a College Dean of Top College in Diredawa in 2007 and moved to Adama where he served as Dean for Students Affairs at Sub-Saharan University College from 2008 -2010. Since 2011 he has been serving in Adama Science and Technology University as Office Manager and Assistant to the President from 2011 to 2016, Director for Institutional Transformation and Good Governance in ASTU from Jan 2020- Jan 2022, Interim Director for International Relations and Cooperation at Ministry of Science and Technology in 2019.

He is the co-author of the book entitled “Quality Thinking in the 21st Century”.  Currently Diriba is the CEO of President Office of Adama Science and Technology.
